Weight-loss drugs can be life-changing for people who have struggled to lose weight, however, some people who take them experience unpleasant side effects.

In 2024, roughly 5 per cent of Britons had used an injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists, a class of medications known under brand names such as Wegovy, Ozempic and Mounjaro, which works by mimicking the hormone GLP-1 to slow down digestion and lower appetite.
