Gunman on the run after fatal shooting

A gunman is on the run after a fatal shooting in Melbourne’s west on Thursday night.

Homicide squad detectives are investigating after they were called to Heysen Parkway in Caroline Springs following reports of shots being fired.

A man, yet to be formally identified, was found with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital but died.

Police have established a crime scene and are appealing to the public for information, as the offender or offenders remain at large.
