Australian Open 2025 LIVE updates: Thompson bundled out; Djokovic blows up; rain halts outside play

Who would want to be a weather forecaster? We were on, but now we were off again because of the rain at the tennis centre.
Matches were back up and running at Melbourne Park after a short delay thanks to some brilliant towel wiping work from the ball kids. They were set to work after a shower swept across the centre and left the courts too slippery for action.
But soon after play had restarted, another pesky rain cloud popped up out of nowhere (well, it didn’t seem obvious on the radar) and left the courts drenched again.
Thankfully, the roof is closed at Rod Laver Arena, so at least we have one match in progress.
A quick wrap: Novak Djokovic is a set all with qualifier Jaime Faria at Rod Laver Arena, but leads the third set 4-2.
There are few clouds on the weather radar, so more play is expected on these outside arenas. But the courts look wetter than before, so it might take some time for them to dry.
