Richmond won another quarter. I was wrong. No need to celebrate, just standard as they have kicked eight of the past nine goals. Carlton’s ball use has been horrendous since Sam Walsh kicked their seventh goal early in the second quarter and they are becoming frustrated. They have found Richmond targets easier to hit then their teammates and seemed to have struggled under perceived rather than real pressure. By contrast Richmond have body lined the ball and showed poise. Their final kick from Josh Cowan was under 12s stuff which led to a Tom Brown goal. The scores are level at the final break.

3QT: Scores level in stunning scenes
Richmond have won two quarters tonight, and that alone could have been a big enough win for the young group.
But after trailing by a large margin, they’ve fought back brilliantly. Scores are level – Scores. Are. Level – at the final break.

This time it’s Tiger Tom Brown right on the three-quarter time siren.
At one point earlier tonight Richmond trailed by 40 points. At the final break, they have levelled the scores.

Star Alpine F1 driver Pierre Gasly is just about to begin his season at Melbourne’s famed Albert Park, but just over the Yarra he’s watching his beloved Blues (a safe-enough assumption, given his choice of cap) battle to shake the plucky, rebuilding Tiger cubs. Alpine is on the rise, and these Tigers could be too…
Analysis: It’s very much game on
Another one to Richmond through Jack Ross and the margin is just six points. The Tigers have kicked seven goals to Carlton’s three since quarter time and are dominating every contest. It is game on.
GOAL: Another one, Richmond!
This time it’s Jack Ross … margin slashed to six points.
Nearly 24 minutes down in the third quarter.
Wowee .… could this be an upset for the ages?
Carlton 8.8 (56) lead Richmond 8.2 (50)
GOAL: Tigers are hopping mad…
This time it’s Jacob Hopper, and Richmond are sticking fat … goodness me
Hopper splits the big sticks at time-on quickly approaches in the third quarter.
Carlton 8.8 (56) lead Richmond 7.2 (44)
Quick-fire analysis
Multiple goals in a row for the Tigers now and two of them have started with a handball from Sam Lalor. And now he has a goal himself and the Richmond chant has gone up. Carlton are giving the ball up far too easily.
